Milestone is back in the SBK franchise and that’s quite the news! The Superbike World Championship is an important part of Milestone’s history.
We started work on the title way back in 1999 when the company was only three years old, and this game was also the first “bicycle” milestone made.
The third game in the series Superbike 2001is one of the most famous bike games of all time and is still in the heart of many fans.
Then it went back to the SBK paddock when it was founded in 2007 SBK-07a new and more accessible game available for the 6th generation consoles, followed by SBK-08 available for the 7th generation.
in 2010, SBK X was a great success and a major turning point in Milestone’s history.
We kept the series up until 2012 when we created it SBK generationa real declaration of love from Milestone to the SBK World Championship.
I personally have a special connection to the SBK games, they are the main reason why I applied to Milestone as a young designer. Finally, I was fortunate to be the lead designer of SBK generations and now one of the masterminds behind our new title SBK22.
SBK22 has the spirit of our old SBK games with all of Milestone’s know-how and updated technologies, the perfect recipe to create a game that truly represents today’s Superbike World Championship and the state-of-the-art in motorcycle simulation. The game is created in Unreal Engine and includes several technological innovations such as Milestone’s neural AI system, weather simulation, a faithful engine sound system, Milestone’s signature handling system and much more.
But games and racing are not only made by technology, people are also the basis for both and to faithfully recreate the feel and experience of being a real Superbike rider we had several helpful conversations with the champions of the real sport, Bautista, Rea and current champion Razgatlioglu. The SBK wheels are based on production wheels but were developed to be the ultimate racing machines and in SBK22 Our players will be able to experience all the real feel and behavior of these racing beasts.
We have our philosophy when we approach a game; We applied the Milestone method based on the faithful and realistic depiction of the real sport, so in SBK22 Players will find an exact reflection of the real championship with all sessions including Pre-Race, Tissot Superpole and Tissot Superpole Race as well as the circuit, teams and more. It is also possible to have a challenging career experience where players write their own story within the Superbike Championship, starting from the bottom to work their way up with the possibility to form their independent team and thus to to win.
SBK22 is accessible to every type of gamer because our goal was to recreate the real sport and make it fun for all tastes. Our hardcore players will enjoy competing on the maximum difficulty level without rider aids, but perhaps other Superbike World Championship fans prefer and enjoy a more moderate stimulation and engage in epic battles against their heroes.
