Riot Games awarded 1,548 women damages in gender discrimination class action lawsuit.
Riot Games was ordered to pay $100 million in damages for gender discrimination in a class action lawsuit in December 2021. In July 2022, a California court approved a settlement.
More details about this case have only recently become known. A court filing confirms that 1,548 women employed by Riot Games or contractors will receive payments.
How axios reported the women are said to receive payments ranging from $5,000 to $156,056.
Seven women have opted out of the settlement, according to documents.
The League of Legends developer was sued in 2018 for “alleged gender discrimination, sexual harassment and a toxic work culture.”
