Artificial intelligence could help Electronic Arts make 20 percent more money in just 5 years.
Electronic Arts is optimistic about the arrival of artificial intelligence. As Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson explained during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, AI can help the company quickly become more effective and profitable.
Thus, improved effectiveness would lead to experiences becoming more immersive and engaging the audience more, which would lead to the audience growing. This in turn could result in growth of several billion US dollars.
As Wilson explains, it is hoped that AI will make EA’s development process 30 percent more efficient in the coming years, while at the same time growing the already 700 million player-strong community by at least 50 percent. 10 to 20 percent of new players should then spend money in the games.
While there are concerns in the industry about artificial intelligence, Wilson explains that every time a new technology is made widely available to the public, big, incredible things happen. That’s why he sees the use of artificial intelligence as an opportunity to answer questions about how the games can be deepened, expanded and made more impressive and personal.
