How’s your adventure through Middle-earth going? It’s only been 2 days since Elden Ring was released, and hundreds of thousands of players have ventured to become lord of the Elden Circle, but you’ll have your work cut out for you.
For the past few days, I’ve been reading to a fairly large group with doubts about the “x” icon, how to get “y”, etc. For this reason, I bring you 6 tips and tricks for your first game in Elden Ring.
6 tips and tricks for Elden Ring
These tips are mainly for the first 15/20 hours, it all depends on the pace of the player, even so more than one will be useful.
1 – Prospecting
Open world = exploration. Middle-earth is huge and hides secrets everywhere that, if you go too fast, will surely miss you. For this reason, I recommend exploring every inch of the world, dungeons, and places like Stormshroud Castle, where rooftops play an important role. Also, even if you don’t use crafting a lot, it’s highly recommended that you scavenge all the materials you see. They will be of great use to you.
2 – Where to find the map fragments
A few days ago we launched a special guide for this, including an explanatory video on how to locate each fragment. I leave you with the video where I explain in a simple way where to find them.
3 – Use markers
It will seem like a very silly rabbit to you, but it is essential. The introduction of the map and landmarks will make our lives easier. If you leave a boss without doing so, marker. What do you find in the material-rich unza area “x”, marker. And so with a long etc. Do not reject them, use them, you will orient yourself better.
4 – Beware of Fia’s Blessing
When she first faces Margit and rests in Grace, Melina will offer to take us to the Table of Lost Grace, where we’ll meet several NPCs. Among them is Fia, a kind woman who will offer us a warm hug to grant us her blessing. It’s highly recommended to do this, but we need to use the object instantly; since as long as it is in inventory, it will shorten our life permanently. To recharge her, just walk up to her and hug her.
5 – Ashes of war
The Ashes of War are the equivalent of Drak Souls weapon arts, but with a difference, in Elden Ring we can modify them. It is essential to check this addition for our weapons, managing to do more damage and have more ease in combat. Plus, they’re infinite, so once you’ve equipped them, you can unequip them again. Ashes of War are obtained by killing minor bosses or talking to NPCs. You also have the option of buying more basic ones.
6 – Use mount to fight
The Cabrallo, half goat, half horse, is a new mechanic introduced in Elden Ring. It will be very useful for us to move from one area to another, but also to fight world bosses like the first dragon of the Necrolimbo. Even to fight against enemies on horseback, it will be easier for us to use the mount.
