Launch 62 games between 2022, 2023 and 2024, fiscally speaking (that is to say until March 2024, date of the end of the fiscal year 2024). This is the ambitious plan of the American developer, Take two, known for many games like Borders, Bio-shock oh Grand Theft Auto, one of the best-selling sagas in history, recently announced that it will be making its biggest bet in video game development. The plan is to get started.
Concretely, among these 62 games of which the company speaks, we would find everything. From completely new games of known sagas (most likely, Grand Theft Auto VI). In addition to new IP addresses (like the mysterious game developed by Ken Levine, the creator of Bio-shock). As always, we would also have the corresponding annual game delivery (like NBA 2K22). And this would be joined by several games Free to play and independent, protected by the company. Finally, a few remade and remastered, like the recent Bioshock: the collection, which operates at 4K and 60 FPS on current consoles.
What are the 62 games that Take-Two plans to bring between 2022 and 2024
As shown in the image sent by the company itself, the specific figure of 62 games is not a mere speculation or estimate. This figure refers to those which are already, either in development or planned, and which could be taken for granted. However, there is a little trick to this figure.
Concretely, for the current fiscal year, the outputs will be 4 new games of their own (called Immersive core in the Report), the publication of 1 game India, 10 mobile games and 6 updates to games already released by the company (such as expansions, DLC or remade), for a total of 21.
However, the voucher comes from 2023. Between this year and the next, it is planned to launch up to 19 new games (among which we could find Biochoc 4 and GTA VI). But it’s not there, because 5 games would also be released India and 10 mobiles (we understand that different from the previous year). Finally, 4 games Mid-core (the closest thing to games as a service, from the company), plus 3 updates to previously released games.
Between the previous two years, neither more nor less than 41 games would be released, adding a total of 62 between the three years (53 if we don’t count the updates), so the future of Take two seems to be brighter than ever.
