Since its release in 2016, Dark Souls 3 has been a title that has kept players hooked on its difficulty and dark, mysterious world. Although time has passed, the game is still popular among fans of the series and now it looks like it could be getting a remake.
According to information provided by Nick Baker on the XboxEra podcast, A Dark Souls 3 remaster is in the works.
Dark Souls 3 would return in the form of a remaster
Granted, this news isn’t too surprising, considering the original Dark Souls received a remaster in 2018, courtesy of QLOC. However, what is interesting is that Nick mentions that there is other information he is not authorized to pass on. This has led to speculation among fans about what this remaster might include and what changes might be made to the game.
Concerning compatibility with current platforms, Dark Souls 3 can run at 60 FPS Xbox Series and PS5. However, if this remaster were released, it would be an opportunity to introduce native 4K and higher frame rates for the title on current-gen platforms. This would be a big step forward for gamers looking for a smoother, more detailed experience.

As we always recommend, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, as it is important to keep in mind that, for now, it is only a rumor and has not been officially confirmed by FromSoftware or Bandai Namco. However, considering the popularity of the series and the current trend of remastering classic games, it is not impossible that this news is true.
