Hello, I’m Annie, co-founder of Max Inferno, a studio I founded with my partner Lukas Steinman. Lukas and I have always loved making things together – Halloween costumes, scavenger hunts, dance moves, pun-induced groans, and badly rhymed cooking songs. When the opportunity arose to make our first game, A little to the leftWe never imagined that it would sell over a million copies in its first year and win the hearts of such a wide audience.
This experience has allowed us to continue doing what we love, and our game’s journey is about to take another big leap as it launches on Xbox with Xbox Game Pass on February 15th. That’s why we think you’ll like our tidy little puzzle game.
Peaceful puzzles
A little to the left We’re all about bringing clutter into attractive arrangements without having to worry about timers or error conditions. It’s quiet and accessible, with simple controls that anyone can quickly understand. We took a lot of inspiration from our own lives when creating this game, which is why many of the objects you’ll sort are based on things in our home… like the clock my dad gave me that I can’t forget, to wind up every Wednesday, or a funny bird lamp from Lukas’ grandmother. Please be careful when handling the glasses, they were also a gift…
Cleanliness is in the eye of the beholder
A few puzzles in there A little to the left There are multiple solutions that offer players different perspectives. It’s fun to have to change the method of observation because at first glance everyone seems to have a different point of view. If you need help, we’ve implemented a fun hint system that allows you to clear exactly as many hints as you want to see. You can also use the “Let It Be” option and skip a puzzle entirely. Don’t worry, you won’t miss anything if you choose to move on from a level – you can skip every single puzzle in the game if you just want to see what comes next.
Cat is on the table
We know that cats play by their own rules, and it is this disrespect for our imposed will that makes us love them even more. Through A little to the leftSometimes your carefully cleaned puzzles are ruined by a playful cat that wipes away your hard work as soon as you think you’re done. The cat is based on our own cat, Rookie – who surprises us every day with new tactics and reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously.
From the sofa into space
At the start of the game there are rather mundane items to sort through. These are relatable situations, such as the junk drawer that many people have or fixing a slightly crooked picture frame. As the game progresses, the sense of absurdity grows over what things should be cleaned up and how. Later, you’ll be asked to correct reflections in a mirror or fast-forward time to perfectly line up a shadow. These later levels may make you think about the nature of control… They’re also some of our favorite puzzles in the game – we hope you like them too!
Touch to clean up
We’re excited to be part of Xbox Game Pass and share our game with the massive audience of gaming fans on Xbox. As part of Xbox Game Pass we can also bring A little to the left available on mobile for the first time thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming’s native touch controls. You can grab and move objects with your hands, or use a compatible controller on the go if you want. From the start, we wanted every control scheme to feel good. That’s why we hope you try both and find out which one you like best.
A little to the left Coming February 15th with Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Series with tons of items to organize in tight spaces and secret compartments. We hope you enjoy discovering our game and experiencing the fun little moments – we had a lot of fun developing it together and are so grateful we had the opportunity.
