It’s pretty Life and Farm Simulator will arrive on Xbox consoles “in the second half of 2024”so we still have a few months left to try it.
As for its content, it corresponds more or less to what one might expect. In Tales of the Shire you are going to create a Hobbit Yes You will settle in Delagua (south of Hobbiton, for those wondering). Although the ultimate goal will be to organize a big party in the village, all the usual elements of life simulators will also be present: fishing, decorating, creating friendships, having a second breakfast…
Below is the official description of the game from the folks at Private Division:
Create a bespoke hobbit using a wide variety of customization options and live out your story in JRR Tolkien’s famous world of Middle-earth. Settle in to a cozy hobbit hole and decorate it by choosing from a wide variety of furniture and decorative items, creating your humble yet unique abode. Then, head out to Delagua, where you can have hours of fun cooking, fishing, collecting, and farming, among many other relaxing activities available in the area. Cast bait in the sparkling waters of Laguna de Delagua to catch delicious trout, then pick the area’s best wild mushrooms. Then use both ingredients to make a delicious empanada for lunch. Once your appetite is satisfied, head out to explore the Shire again and improve your relationships with the people of Delagua by helping them build a garden or sharing one of the many daily hobbit meals with them, among other activities.
It’s a very interesting proposal to make a “cozy” type game in the Region. Hopefully Wētā Workshop can bring some of the magic of cinema to the world of video games. After last year’s Gollum, the series needs him more than ever.
