April receives its first wave of games joining the Xbox Game Pass. In addition to the game additions, we are also entitled to a redesign of the console interface of the service. In fact, the Xbox Game Pass menus are now being redesigned to show the titles your friends are playing. That way you can join a multiplayer session right away or start installing the title in question.
As has been the case for a long time, Xbox is trying to reduce the points of friction as much as possible in order to encourage multiplayer play. While the intent is laudable, much remains to be done. The social and community aspect is a point that has been missing for many years. Hopefully this revision is a sign of a desire to speed up the problem.
If you missed the list of games joining the previously announced service, you can find it right here. It happens here when you take off.
