Six days ago, the wait ended for many Xbox console strategy fans. Microsoft has confirmed the arrival of Age Of Empires IV and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition for their respective machines. Well, that and a mobile version that looks pretty good.
We already knew there would indeed be controller and keyboard support in the console versions, so today we need to know a little better what this adaptation looks like in order made by the World’s Edge team.
Here’s how Age of Empires plays on Xbox consoles
In the following gameplay video, which lasts just over a minute, we can see how a radial menu has been included to access certain functions that would be a little more hidden. It will be something like quick events to access them efficiently without wasting too much time. This is not a new or unheard of solution, other strategy games have opted for it on consoles.
We can too see some changes and improvements in the interface to be adapted to consoles, that and the possibility of controlling the zoom of the units in a simple way.
