Hello Xbox community!

Today marks a monumental milestone – our medieval turn-based strategy game. It’s a peanut, leaves the Xbox Game Preview program and you can now enjoy the full version 1.0! To mark the occasion, we have a brand new, shiny release trailer featuring the voice of famous bardcore musician Hildegard von Blingin’. Check it out above!

So. what is It’s a peanut, you might ask? Well, it’s a turn-based strategy game where a rabbit’s butt can be deadlier than a dog’s sword (trust me, that’s not a mistake!). It is inspired by real medieval art and is set entirely on the pages of medieval manuscripts. If you’ve ever seen old medieval books with funny drawings on the pages, or even medieval memes on the internet, these hilarious doodles (called “marginalia”) were used as the basis for, well, everything in our game.

Inclined animals

All of our characters, maps (which we call battlefields), animals and objects are based on these drawings by medieval monks and scribes, sometimes called illuminators. That’s why we say It’s a peanut The creation took over 700 years.

While you may come across some ridiculous shenanigans like donkeys playing trumpets with their butts, fish swinging knives, and devils with faces for butts, trust me, it’s not us who came up with it – it are actually people from the Middle Ages and It’s a peanut is a tribute to her work.

To be as authentic as possible, we even consulted a real medievalist to ensure we were using these inspirations properly and staying true to the source material. So as you sit back and watch your army of manuscript monkeys throw poop at enemy beasts, you can relax in the knowledge that you are actually learning history (feel free to bring this fact up in front of your history teacher!).

Inculinati sketch 2

As I mentioned, we’ve been participating in the Xbox Game Preview program for just over a year. And this year we made a lot of changes. We added a lot of content, worked tirelessly to balance and optimize, fixed those annoying bugs – we listened a lot to you – our community – during the creation It’s a peanut the best it can be. And at this point I have to give a big shout out to the wonderful Xbox community for helping us improve.

Thanks to you, we have added many new features and fixed the issues you thought needed fixing. For example, our tutorial (called Academy) is now very different from what it was a year ago – it consists of learning the game through numerous puzzles and challenges that require you to understand the mechanics of the game It’s a peanut to solve them and move forward. We’ve added some accessibility features and reduced screen shake during certain actions to give you a better experience. Without you, It’s a peanut wouldn’t be the game it is today – so thank you!

But hey, let’s talk about one of the coolest things that ever happened to our studio – it happened during our time in the Game Preview program. We had the chance to work with the amazing people at Obsidian Entertainment and their amazing game Buses!

Inclined Pentimence Key Item No

How could this happen, you may ask? Well, during Gamescom 2022, where It’s a peanut And Buses were both showcased at the Xbox booth as future Game Pass releases (in fact, we were literally neighbors – our gaming stations were next to each other), and we had the opportunity to discuss a collaboration for the ages – cameo appearances by our characters in both of ours games. We both thought it would be a good fit, as historical accuracy and the manuscripts themselves are an important part of both titles.

One conversation led to another and finally we greeted each other fine Main protagonist – Andreas – as a playable character in our game! (You can play as Andreas in The Journey – a single-player campaign with roguelike elements.) In turn, some of our in-game characters have been added to the fringes of the Buses Books! The cool thing is that it was a true collaboration – Obsidian artists recreated our art in the… Buses style, and our art director Andreas drew it himself. It was the right thing to do – this way all characters, originals and their versions from another game are concise and fit the game they are now a part of.

It was an incredible experience for us indie game developers making our first game. Never in our wildest dreams did we think that we would have a character from a game from Obsidian Entertainment – a studio we were fans of before we started game development – in our game and our characters in their game .

So if you decide to play Buses (and you should too – it’s a real labor of love and one of the most extraordinary gaming experiences ever), you might even come across some Inculinati characters along the way fine Books in the game. If someone had told us that our characters would appear in an Obsidian game, we would have thought it was ridiculous. So our story proves that crazy things can happen!

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and I really hope you have a lot of fun with our turn-based strategy game. It’s a peanut 1.0 is now available to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows and via Game Pass. Thanks for reading and good luck out there lighting up the battlefields! Oh, and we’re still planning some post-launch updates Feel free to join our Discord and share your feedback with us!

All the best,

Inkulinati is an ink-based strategy game straight from medieval manuscripts, where a rabbit’s butt can be deadlier than a dog’s sword. Compete in Inkulinati duels full of unexpected tactical depth (and humor!). Embark on an ever-changing journey, build your own bestiary, defeat medieval superstars and collect benefits to unlock special powers. Become a master of living ink, grab your quill and keep crafting your unique strategy so you can be crowned the greatest Inculinati of all time! INKULINATI IS INSPIRED BY REAL MEDIEVAL MARGINALIAS. After 700 years of development, these bizarre works of art can finally be brought to life in a video game and show that medieval people also had their “memes” and laughed at the same silly things we do today. You’ll see sword-wielding rabbits, dogs with spears, trumpets stuck in the ground, man-eating snails and more. Much, much more… FIGHT LIKE AN INCULINATI Inculinati are a legendary group that fight each other on the pages of medieval manuscripts. They fight by drawing beasts with the living ink. Thanks to this magical substance, these creatures come to life and an epic battle ensues. Move your beasts around the battlefield, perform actions on or with them, use obstacles tactically and collect more living ink to draw new beasts that will allow you to gain an advantage over your opponent. MULTIPLE DEADLY (AND BIZARRE) BEASTS TO UNLOCK Donkeys that play trumpets with their butts, bishop cats that defeat heretics with prayers, heavy but deadly slugs that eat units alive, and more. Much much more. They all have special abilities and are waiting for your command. SPECIAL ACTIONS OF THE INCULINATI THAT CHANGE THE FIGHTING AREA. It’s not just your beasts that can wreak havoc and damage. Use your fists to smash your opponent’s units, drag obstacles to create barriers, move your units with a swipe of your finger, or blast your troops to create pure, unadulterated chaos. Remember: your opponent can do it too. Adapt your tactics to each battle. Each Inculinati has its own army with different beasts, which in turn have different abilities, strengths and, unfortunately (or fortunately – depending on which side you are on), weaknesses. But it’s not just the armies that can influence who wins a given duel. Each battlefield is its own domain, with its own dangers to be wary of and opportunities to exploit. You must use your wits and adapt your strategy to defeat the opposing Inculinati army on each individual battlefield. A SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN Discover the mystery and secrets of Inkulinati and face opponents such as Death, Dante Alighieri and more. Go out into the world and start your adventure! Fight against the greatest Inculinati masters in the land, tame the untamed beasts, build your ultimate army, try to bring your master back from the clutches of death and, most importantly, complete your great quest with the greatest party the Middle Ages has ever seen has seen ! Howza!!! CREATE AND DEVELOP YOUR OWN CHARACTER As an aspiring Inculinati Master, you can create your own Tiny Inculinati. During your journey, you will learn the secret techniques for drawing new beasts and Inculinati hand actions, allowing you to choose the composition of your army. You can be a brave knight who has no fear and unleashes his loyal troops directly on his opponents. Or maybe you want to play with a little more tact? In this case, you can be a nun who can confuse her enemies and heal your own servants with the power of prayer. These and more styles are waiting to be discovered and made your own. Express yourself! EVERY BATTLE HAS ITS OWN STORY To make each battle visible in the history books for all future generations, procedurally generated text details the dramatic (or hilarious) events right above the battlefield.
