The UK CMA has also shown its support for Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard-King, and although the official verdict is expected on April 26, all indications are that the approval is a fact Activision will be part of Microsoft.
Diablo IV would be closer to Xbox Game Pass
This news has rekindled the hopes of Xbox gamers to see Diablo 4 on Xbox Game Pass. Although Blizzard currently has no plans to include the game in the catalog, the acquisition by Microsoft could change things. While it’s unlikely Diablo 4 will be available on Game Pass on its June release date, it’s possible the game will be available who knows, maybe in late 2023.
If Microsoft ends up acquiring Activision-Blizzard-King, Diablo 4 will most likely join the list of titles available on Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft’s strategy is to include all games from its studios in the subscription service, and Diablo 4 should be no exception.
At the moment, it’s all just guesswork because of how Xbox Game Pass works and the inclusion of exclusive games from Microsoft studios, in which case Diablo IV would be part of the equation.
