The quality of Alan Wake 2 is beyond doubt, the long-awaited sequel is one of the best games released in the current generation and one of the benchmarks of the genre. Quality is not always accompanied by the expected results, at least that could be the case with Alan Wake 2, a game that has solid salesbut they have not yet managed to recover their budget.

We learned this information from latest financial report of Remedy. Alan Wake 2 has yet to recoup what was invested in development and marketing. That’s not to say the game sold poorly, sales seem okay, but they haven’t yet yielded enough to cover those expenses.

Alan Wake 2 still has room to grow

Although Alan Wake 2 did not recoup these initial expenses, it allowed Rermedy to increase its revenue by more than fifty percent compared to the previous quarter. On the other hand, Remedy continues to work on Control 2, with the sequel reportedly starting production at the end of this year. so it still wouldn’t take long after launching.

Remedy made a big investment by purchasing the rights to Control from 505 Games. This investment leaves them complete freedom to develop its sequels, as happened with Alan Wake. They also have the Max Payne remakes on their hands, so as we can see, the health of the company is in a very good situation and they have many projects in the pipeline.
