Kyle Rowley, the director of the title, said that the game will be "a little more open" and this will not only allow free exploration but will even allow players to return to previously visited areas. On the other hand, Anne-Lynn Sottas, the artistic director of production, confirmed the return of some of the most emblematic places of the first game, although recreated to allow more exploration.
The Remedy Entertainment team has done extensive research on the settings to recreate this fictional region of the United States with all the detail it deserves. Alan Wake 2 will arrive on October 17 on Xbox Seres X / S, PC and PS 5 although we will be able to see some of the gameplay June 8 at the Summer Game Fest.
