The Xbox Series X, Series S in the US, and the PS5 competition continue to sell out in virtually every store. All this more than a year after its official launch. It’s true that, at least in Europe, you’re starting to find X-Series inventory in stores (almost unheard of), but online shopping is still a lottery of sorts.
While much of these supply issues are largely due to global semiconductor shortages, there is no doubt that the new generation is selling very well. This Sales growth expected to continue in 2022
During a recent question-and-answer session with its investors and thanks to the publication of WCcftech), we have taken note of the opinion of His on stra tospheric sales of PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
I think the console business, this cycle and everything, when you look at it as a whole, has been amazing (…) I mean, if you think about the force of the cycle (the life of a console), we are now in the second year and it is a fact that the demand is high. I mean, we have shipped a lot of product. So the fact that demand remains high speaks volumes about the product capabilities that Microsoft and Sony have achieved during this console cycle.
. We continue to increase production. We expect 2022 to be another year of strong growth for consoles. If you look at the typical console cycle, the “best” year is actually year four, generally. And so, we can hope that 2023 may be this year “better”.Translation WCcftech
Prospects for future sales
In this perspective, we can say that Sales are expected to increase in 2022, before peaking in 2023. Of course, the semiconductor shortage is not an insignificant factor, and while Sony and Microsoft manage to make enough consoles to meet demand, it is still fashionable for now. AMD (and many others as we have already mentioned) have predicted that 2022 will continue with an ongoing supply shortage, on the other hand Intel has already said that this could even extend until 2023.
In the meantime and if you don’t have a new generation console yet, We recommend that you read these tips that we reported to you a few months ago that are still good clues to getting an Xbox Series X.
