A bad surprise arrives from the United States. And it was that when we thought we were in the final stretch to conclude the agreement between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard for the purchase of the latter, and after the favorable decision of the courts of the northern country, the FTC appealed the decision

The information is recent and under development, but comes from Tom Warren, editor of The Verge, a media outlet that covered all of the hearings in the recent legal dispute. At the time of this writing, the arguments were not disclosed that regulators have used to appeal.

A case not for the faint-hearted

The FTC's goal is for the court to issue an extension to the temporary order that prevented the agreement between the two companies and which expires on July 14. Despite this situation, the Court of Appeal cannot render a decision before the deadline of the agreement, July 18, which would allow Redmond to finalize the dealor early next week without having to worry about a restraining order.

On the other hand, a new agreement with the CMA in the United Kingdom would be in preparation, we will see if this does not affect it in any way.
