Madness becomes a video game thanks to Unables, an experience where everything turns upside down… or upside down, depending on how you look at it.
From time to time, we gamers enjoy eccentricities that break with the dynamics of pre-established genres. Titles like Katamary Damacy, Rain your parade or evenly Goat simulator They give a good account of it. In the process, we have the latest news from the study 9 UNZ y Entertainment forever. A madness called Impossible which we will describe to you in the following analysis and where physics (or rather their absence) is the main basis of the adventure.
Can you imagine a world where everyone is lazy? No, it’s not what you think. Even vaguer. To the point where I can no longer get up from the couch or the floor itself. Well, that’s what happens in Unables. No one wants to wave a stick or lift a finger. Thank goodness we are here to control the scenario. Yes my friends, we as absolute divinity, We’ll make the world spin to make gravity work
Everyone get moving!
At our disposal we will have a series of screens with predefined objectives. Each phase is a completely different task, although the way of acting will always be similar. For example, we will have to unleash chaos in a city like Godzilla, so we will have to turn the city upside down so that all the buildings catch fire. Or we can spin a boxing ring and have both fighters fighting left and right (even the referee if necessary). Or my favorite: kicking a group of hooligans off a moving bus, no matter how clingy they are.
Undoubtedly a series of the most amusing situations, and each with its own way of shaking up the world. While some are madness taken to the extreme, in others we will have to make subtle inclinations to avoid losing control of our character. There is a screen that will look like a typical ball puzzle that we will have to move by tilting the board in all directions and that will require millimeter control. And when everything goes as planned, the feeling of satisfaction is total. But this doesn’t always happen…
A minute of extreme madness
In most cases, chaos takes over. It is very difficult to make the service doll react to your actions. And yes, this is one of the handicaps deliberately imposed in Unables, as it can happen in the same way in Surgeon Simulator or Octodad. But unlike the previous ones, here you really lose control (and vision) of what is happening around you.
There are phases where you feel like you are shaking the typical crystal ball with snow and waiting to see what happens. If it’s not because of the enormous amount of objects on the screen, it’s because the camera is positioned in such a way that it doesn’t allow you to clearly see what’s happening. Well, if we had all the time in the world, nothing would happen, but to earn stars and unlock new screens we will have to play on difficulty. And in difficulty, we will only have 60 seconds to complete the challenge.
One more little tour
It’s true that Unables uses typical trial-and-error mechanisms and even improves over time do all the movements in the most orchestrated way possible (in the chaos that this implies). But achieving these playable abilities becomes very complicated. So it’s not like we have several levels… In total, We will have 15 phases where we will test our sense of direction and our gravitational capacity.
Impossible conclusion
9 UNZ and Forever Entertainment offer us a very original bet and rarely seen in the world of video games. In this particular proposal we will have to face a series of challenges by moving the scene itself. A madness that translates into 15 different phases, each with its challenges, its rhythm and its difficulty. And although, on the table, it may seem like a lot of fun, the truth is that there are flaws in the project. Especially in the control of the game, extremely chaotic and with a camera that does not help at all to carry out the assigned tasks. Although this clumsiness in the execution of actions can be part of its charm, as happens in similar games.
