Well, just a few hours ago my colleague Pedro shared the requirements to play Forspoken on PC, the game which has around Pretty crazy minimum requirements to play at 720p and 30fps. You might think they are sufficient, but of course, when you see the resolution and the framerate… you realize that you suck with a GTX 1060 and an i7.
All that remains is to aim for the recommended requirements. Those of us with a good computer will be able to move it into Ultra, yes, but there are other concessions such as the fact that you have to have Windows 11.
DirectStorage will be exclusive to Windows 11 for games like Forspoken
And the reason is none other than DirectStorage. The new intelligent Windows reading and writing system makes the game efficient and optimal. In fact, Forspoken was the first game to announce support for the DirecStorage API. The bad news is that although this feature was also released for Windows 10 22H2, in the case of this game It will only be possible to use it if you have Windows 11 22H2.
It was detailed by the studio in charge of the game, Luminous Productions. In the requirements, if you want the Ultra version, you must have Windows 11, an NVMe SSD at least to be able to use the game under these circumstances.
I got to try out the demo of the game, and honestly, it doesn’t feel like a state-of-the-art game in terms of graphics, so everything points to poor value for money by the studio.
