The creators of Batman: Arkham Asylum are working on a AAA GI Joe game for Hasbro Gaming.
Atomic Arcade, an internal studio of Hasbro Gaming, is developing a GI-Joe branded game.
Dan Ayoub, head of digital product development at Wizards of the Coast, spoke with us gaming industry about it and gave a few details. The planned AAA game will therefore be “not your father’s GI Joe” and will focus on Snake Eyes as the protagonist.
Ayoub said: “While Snake Eyes is not a new IP, we hope it will give the GI Joe franchise a boost and allow us to do some new things and express them in video games in different ways than we have done before “
With the new game, Hasbro is trying to do something similar to what they did for Batman with Arkham Asylum. Therefore, it is probably no coincidence that Atomic Arcade is run by former Rocksteady developers.
“A common theme that you’ll see across all of these studios is the leadership and the teams that have done something that we’re trying to do,” Ayoub said.
