Asobo’s license will soon be turned into a TV series

We haven’t finished hearing about Amicia and Hugo, the two heroes of A plague story. In addition to a second episode planned for this year, the Borderlais license is also entitled to an adaptation in television series. The information appeared on Screen Total’s website earlier in the day. The series is produced by Matthew Turi

former assistant director Inglorious Basterds and at work on his first horror film. The Asobo teams have chosen to work with French productions, as explained by Fabrice Renault, head of the company producing the series:

For me it is fundamental that our productions reflect French talent and know-how. A Plague Tale is a game designed by Asobo in Bordeaux that we produce with a company based in Paris; its creators had the opportunity to sell the adaptation in the United States, but they preferred to work with French: I want to restore that trust in them.

The richness of the game universe, a kingdom of France fighting against the Black Death of 1348, as well as the nature of the relationship between the two protagonists provide an ideal setting for such an adaptation.
