Atomic Heart is one of the most anticipated games of this beginning of the year. The title Mundfish, which will launch on Xbox Game Pass, has caught the world’s attention with its proposal and many already see it as the spiritual successor to Bioshock.
And as we get closer to its release, we continue to learn more details about what’s to come.
Atomic Hearts will arrive without RT on consoles at launch
And while the game on PC will be a technological marvel, on consoles it will be a step backwards, as game director Robert Bagratuni has confirmed that Atomic Heart will not offer RayTracing at launch. A feature that will be available on computers, but which, at least initially, will not be available on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. Of course, in his interview with WCcfTech, when he confirmed this information, he made sure that the title will have excellent optimization on consoles.
The difference between next-gen consoles and the PC version of Atomic Heart is that, of course, high-end PCs will provide a higher frame rate and better quality, as we also have higher preset graphics on pc.
We are constantly implementing the latest complementary technologies available in the game and some of them replace each other. Consoles will not support RT at this time, but we are working to provide our players with the best and most optimized visual experience possible. Rest assured that gamers will benefit from the most complementary and advanced graphical result.
That being said, the preset on the newer consoles is quite balanced and quite similar to a high-end PC in terms of overall visual quality. We’ve done a lot of work on optimizing the console, bringing 4K 60fps dynamic graphics mode and even native 4K 60fps to some Atomic Heart environments. We are also looking at how we can continue to make more performance improvements in the future and will let you know when we do.
