According to billionaire Warren Buffett, US and UK authorities are to blame for the possible failure of the Activision Blizzard takeover.
At Berkshire Hathaway’s 2023 annual meeting, chairman and CEO Warren Buffett responded to the CMA’s decision to block Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Buffett is a billionaire entrepreneur and one of the most successful investors in the world. The 92-year-old said Microsoft was more than willing to cooperate and met the opposition more than halfway. But not everything that should happen happens.
Furthermore, Buffet is of the opinion that both the US government, i.e. the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the British government in the form of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) are making a mistake. He blames authorities like the two mentioned if the deal should fail.
