The winter update for Halo infinity is here, bringing the biggest feature update to both the game’s campaign and free-to-play multiplayer since launching last year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, and Steam. Starting today, players can dive into highly anticipated experiences like the Forge Beta, Campaign Network Co-Op and Mission Replay, unlock rewards from the free 30-tier Battle Pass, and more.
Here’s a quick look at all of the new content available in today’s update:
- Forge Beta: Halo’s legendary creation tool is back and more powerful than ever. The Forge beta launches with six canvas maps, a new visual scripting engine, object scaling, bot support, huge budget increases, file sharing capabilities, and a lot of more to help you create and share your maps, modes, and prefabs. Watch the four-part Forge Fundamentals video series to Halo Waypoint for a rundown of all the exciting new additions.
- Match XP & New Battle Pass: The winter update marks the first major step towards further development Halo Infinites Progression experience with Match XP Beta. Based on player feedback, Match XP rewards players for completing matches with additional XP for achievement (e.g. win/loss, end-of-game placement, etc.). During the beta period, values for each Match XP reward category will be monitored and adjusted to provide improved earn rates. Give it a try with the free, never-expiring, 30-tier Winter Update Battle Pass that includes the fan favorite Hello Reach-thematic cosmetics.
- New multiplayer maps & game mode: Two new multiplayer arena maps – Argyle and Detachment – are added to the rotation, both created entirely in Forge. Argyle is a tight indoor map set in the narrow corridors of a UNSC ship, while Detachment is a once-abandoned UNSC facility on a bluff. The new Covert One-Flag mode is a unique twist on One-Flag CTF, where the attacking team is equipped with Active Camo while the defending team has Threat Sensors.
- Campaign network co-op and mission replay: Whether you’re stepping into the Master Chief’s legendary Mjolnir boots for the first time or returning to Zeta Halo, you can hop in and experience the epic with up to three of your friends Halo infinity Campaign together in Campaign Network Co-Op. Cross-play is supported across all Xbox devices and PCs, and progression and unlocks are shared between all players – everyone benefits! If you want to relive a specific part of the campaign or need to collect any remaining collectibles, you can replay any of the missions from the TACMAP.
- New Achievements: For the achievement hunters out there, the winter update brings 24 new achievements Halo Infinites Campaign. Some can be completed solo, others may require a helping hand (or three!). Check out the full list of new achievements here.
This only scratches the icy surface of all the new content and updates to challenges, matchmaking, playlists and more available in today’s release Halo infinity winter update.
