As a result of the reveal trailer for Battlefield 2042, the number of players in Battlefield 4 increased so much that EA had to increase the server capacity.
Since the reveal trailer for Battlefield 2042, there has been a real hype about the next offshoot of the shooter series from DICE.
For the first time since Battlefield 4, the fighting takes place in a modern war scenario. In addition, players can look forward to the largest map in Battlefield history, battles with 128 players at the same time, natural disasters occurring during the battles, battlefields spread all over the world and increased verticality of the gameplay.
Since the release of Battlefield 2042 is about four months in the future, some Battlefield fans seem to have got the idea to bridge the waiting time by playing Battlefield 4 and at the same time get in the mood for the upcoming shooter highlight.
In fact, the number of players involved was so large that EA had to increase the server capacities of the now almost eight-year-old title. The Canadian company published the following statement:
“We were absolutely blown away by your excitement and reaction to the recent Battlefield 2042 reveal.”
“Since then, many of you have returned to Battlefield 4 for a taste of the return of the all-encompassing war. We watched your experience and found that the queues in the US West region were much longer than in other regions. Good news, we have increased the server capacity for this region – you now have to wait less and can play more. “
“We will continue to monitor the queue times and make further adjustments if necessary.”
Battlefield 2042 will be released on October 22, 2021 for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
