In week 24/2022, Xbox Series X|S beat PlayStation 5 in global hardware sales.
The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S models were sold 142,375 times worldwide in week 24/2022 (June 12 to 18), as VGchartz estimates. Overall, Microsoft sold 15.37 million consoles.
That beat the PlayStation 5, which sold 126,870 times that week. In the entire life cycle, the PS5 comes to 20.46 million.
However, first place goes to the Nintendo Switch. 272,639 consoles went over the counter in the said period, making it the best-selling console.
Nintendo sold an estimated 109.25 million units of the Switch over its lifecycle.
A comparison to the previous week (KW23) shows that sales of the Xbox Series X|S fell by 2000, the PlayStation 5 by 18,000 and the Nintendo Switch by 7000 units.
In terms of global sales for this year, Xbox Series X|S leads the way with 3.55 million consoles versus PlayStation 5, which sold 3.48 million units. With 7.37 million, the Nintendo Switch is also in first place among the consoles.
