If you’re a regular follower, you’ll have easily noticed that we’ve been publishing an Xbox Game Pass quests guide in our columns every week for several years. Among the many pieces that make up the Microsoft Rewards puzzle, these allow you to earn points just by playing. So, like us, you must have been disturbed yesterday by the discovery of an entirely new organization of quests. decryption:
What are we talking about exactly?
The Microsoft Rewards program is Microsoft’s online loyalty service. Based on the whole ecosystem it enables for any user with a Microsoft account and without compensation to collect “Bounty” points, which he accumulates in a wallet. You are free to exchange these points for gift cards, in-game benefits or donate them to charities.
Associated with the Game Pass subscription, the missions offered to you each month (the famous quests) allow you to recover a little more points through the games available in the program. But yesterday things changed. Negative? Not necessarily !
Happy New Year to all #Rewards fans on #Xbox!
Your Game Pass quests are a little different this year 🙂
One thing you’ll notice is that playing @XboxGamePass is now even more rewarding, so make sure to check your weekly quests!
you appreciate?

At least things are clear so it’s not a bug but ok a change requested and decided by Microsoft to further develop its loyalty program. But in which direction?
What do all these changes mean?
Where multiple quests used to be available daily, weekly, or monthly (which hasn’t changed) and multiple categories contained in-game missions, this is no longer the case. Now all you have to do for weekly quests is complete a mission in a specific game
Another big change, the “queen” of quests, the grail every month, The “Veteran” card no longer offers you 1000 points after completion, but only 500. Considering all these elements, we are entitled to say that the program is losing importance and especially value. Did you have the curiosity to calculate… No? We yes!
Why your subscription makes the difference
in 2022here is the classic retribution of reward points if you have done all the quests an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member account :
Affected period | Points awarded over the period | Annual occasions | Monthly points (30-day months) | Annual Points |
daily task | 3 | 365 | 90 | 1095 |
Weekly Quests | 70 | 52 | 280 | 3640 |
Monthly quests | 1435 | 12 | 1435 | 17220 |
In total | / | / | 1805 | 21995 |
The same, but this time taking into account the changes made to the program in 2023
Affected period | Points awarded over the period | Annual occasions | Monthly points (30-day months) | Annual Points |
daily task | 3 | 365 | 90 | 1095 |
Weekly Quests | 275 | 52 | 1100 | 14300 |
Monthly quests | 635 | 12 | 635 | 7620 |
In total | / | / | 1825 | 23015 |
Though we all thought we were losers Surprise ! This is absolutely not the case. With these mods we are indeed able to regain a little more points each month/year by being a diligent minimum.
But because there is a “but” These changes will not benefit everyone. The tables above reflect the theoretical point yield for Xbox Game Ultimate subscribers. Of course, “Standard” Xbox Game Pass subscribers can join in the joyful hunt for points, but for them: the fall is dizzying with the new system.
If the points awarded for weekly ultimate quests remain unchanged, “regular” Xbox Game Pass subscribers who earned 20,655 points for the year can only earn 8975 points at best. And this by completing all the quests available to them. On good terms…
