The new multiplayer mode has been introduced for Tour de France 2024. The long-awaited Criterium mode allows six players, each controlling two cyclists, to compete against each other during a stage. The rules are simple: whoever finishes first wins the race. However, there is another special feature: the conditions between the individual races change each time.
At the start of the game, different settings are randomly chosen to create different conditions that players must adapt to each time. After choosing the stage (which is randomly selected from all available stages except time trials), the game chooses a distance and the type of team that players must control. Other settings can also be changed by the game.
