Game Science’s Black Myth Wukong is delaying its release on Xbox and coming to other consoles and PC on August 20.
Game Science dealt a good blow to Xbox users by deciding to delay the launch of Black Myth Wukong on the Redmond platform. The studio removed from its presentation video the Summer Gaming Festival any reference to Xbox. This is because apparently they are having development issues with editing for S Series
This is not the first time that a game has delayed its release on Xbox due to the version intended for the small Xbox machine. And Microsoft is very strict and every game must be released simultaneously on Xbox Series X and S with the same quality standards.
This is something we’ve seen before with Baldurs Gate 3, game arrived three months late on Xbox due to the problems the studio encountered adapting it to the little white machine. However, all this translated, months later, into thanks from BioWare, since in their search to optimize the Series S version, they found a way to improve the game’s performance by 45% on all platforms.
However, Black Myth Wukong and its developer Game science, does not seem to have focused its efforts on polishing the game. Their efforts seem to have focused solely and exclusively on the PS5 and PC versions. We will see if the title finally arrives on Xbox, on what dates and if the small studio is capable of optimizing a title with many pretensions. We might finally be faced with another game that arrives in painful optimization conditions for launch day.
