Although Black Ops 6 has been with us for less than a month, the Call of Duty community remains alert to rumors about the next chapter of the series, which is expected to arrive in late 2025. Although there is no confirmation official, there are clues that suggest the next match could be a sequel to Black Ops 2.
One of these indices is the incorporation as an operator in BO6 of Samuel J. Stuhlinger, a character we met in the part of Black Ops 2’s story set in the future and starring David Mason.
Call of Duty 2025 could be a sequel to Black Ops 2
The arrival of Stuhlinger in the list of Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops 6 operators, on the occasion of Start of season 1, has generated speculation among fans of the series. The question is: what does the incorporation of this character mean? A possible answer is that The next episode of the series will be a sequel to Black Ops 2set in the future and with Mason’s son involved in some way. Although this is a hypothesis, it is clear that Stuhlinger’s introduction must have to do with the future of the series.
Interestingly, Stuhlinger is exclusively linked to events that do not reference the early 90s, Black Ops 6’s historical period. This suggests that The series could take a different path, moving away from the Black Ops 6 timeline and move towards a closer future. While there’s no official confirmation, it’s likely that Stuhlinger’s addition is a hint at what’s to come in the series.
