When Studios within striking distance announced that The Callisto Protocol would be part of the PUBG universe, many of us were surprised. The Battle Royale lacked an element of horror, and it seemed difficult to tie it cohesively to what claims to be one of the most important horror games of recent years.
Despite this, fans are excited about the idea and the expansion of PUBG lore. But, as we all thought from the startthe narrative connections between the stories, seem not to connect properly and logically.
The CEO of the developer, Glen Schofieldconfirmed this information on Twitter. Here he explains that while the game was originally part of the PUBG universe (set nearly 300 years in the future), it now has its own universe. While it looks like there will be a few little surprises and cameos here and there, the narrative universe won’t be the same.
This revelation does not surprise us, since Schofield he previously said in an interview that the lore ties between the two games wouldn’t be very deep. To this we had to add that the Battle Royale, beyond certain content in the form of video in certain seasons, which could give free rein to our imagination, does not have a defined history.
It should also be noted that although The Callisto Protocol it was a new generation game, it could finally land also on PS4 and Xbox One. At Xbox Area we already want to try this promising title, how about you?
