Good news to end on Friday. As you know, today the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released worldwide, leaving hundreds of thousands of players hooked throughout this weekend. We have already been able to test it, and as you will see in our test for the next few hours, with the multiplayer analysis included, it is absolutely excellent. But we couldn’t help but smile when we saw this tweet.
Because you have to take it with humor, but the joke is told. Call of Duty wants to be so strong on PlayStation that even those who translate the phrases on the game’s covers change Xbox like PlayStation. Here in Europe, sometimes the console, whatever the brand, is called “la plei”. Will the same happen to them? Look at the picture:
Additionally, some players who purchased the Xbox physical edition of #MWII in Canada noticed an error on the box.
“The best-selling franchise on Xbox” somehow translates into French as “PlayStation”.

A fun but rather annoying mistake
With the huge controversy generated by the takeover of Activision and therefore of the Call of Duty franchise by Microsoft, the occurrence of this kind of error is something that could not go unnoticed. Obviously this is something that is of no importance, but the case is still curious, since in Canada they manage both English and French, and wanting to display the same sentence in both languages , Xbox magically becomes PlayStation.
Of course, this should all be taken as a joke, because no one should care about this little mistake. But it’s still striking: in French there is no Xbox? Did they copy the phrase from the PS5 cover? We will surely never know and the Canadian covers of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be eternally marked by the same. It doesn’t matter if you buy the game on Xbox, PlayStation is still there…
