Capcom says it is making good progress, even though sales fell in the first half of the year.
Video game developer Capcom presented new figures for the first half of the 2024/25 financial year.
Accordingly, net sales by September 30, 2024 were the equivalent of $368 million. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a decrease of 25%.
Operating income fell 39% compared to last year and amounted to $135 million.
Net profit was $99 million, down 40% from the previous year.
Despite the declines, Capcom says it is making good progress toward meeting its annual goal. So you don’t change your forecast. On the contrary: it is aiming for 12 years of growth in a row, which will be driven primarily by growth in digital content businesses.
When it comes to video game sales, the company reported 54% sales on PC (+6%) and 40% on consoles (remaining the same). 94.7% of all sales were digital.
