Stamina Zero presents Cilla, a 2D side-scrolling shooter in which humanity must fight against any external threat.
Stamina Zero presents us with Cilla, a simple boat shooting game more typical of several decades ago than current games. A type of simple control in which we will have to worry about not dying, trying to save the human species in each of the levels that make up the game.
Up, down and pull
In Cilla we will have a unique game mode in which we will have to overcome a series of levels and overcome each of the phases little by little to advance in the story. To do this we will have to use our own ship, which will allow us to shoot and move horizontally through the levels. The control of the game is simple since we will have a button to shoot and another to use a skill that we will collect in each level.
In Cilla there is no possibility to improve our ship and its characteristics, which m akes the title lack depth and there is no incentive for replayability that can allow us to go through the story mode in a different way. The skills that we can obtain are to heal ourselves, have a shield and be able to change our type of shot for a few seconds.
Alone against the threat
Simple and unoriginal story where we are the last hope of humanity in which we have been awakened from a long sleep, which has been an argument seen on several occasions. During each of the chapters the objective will be to defeat the enemy, yes on some occasions we will have the help of other companions but in the end we will always be alone in our adventure.
One of the sections that stands out in Cilla and not for the better are the conversations between the characters, maybe it’s a translation problem but sometimes there are cases where words are used almost randomly and don’t make any sense, which makes me completely alien to the story.
In the visual section we find a pixelated style and a user interface more typical of arcade games from several years ago, being simple and with the necessary elements to not fill the screen with unnecessary elements.
Conclusions
Cilla is a small 2D shooter game that is easy to play and has a single game mode with several missions in which we will have to fight against the species that wants to extinguish the human race. It is a game far from what we usually play today with little content and no progression as we progress.
