We are a Dutch indie studio based in Utrecht and were founded in 2007 in the Netherlands. We have been working with Devolver Digital since 2018 to present our game to players Blightbound, a 2.5D multi-player cooperative dungeon crawler now available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. Blightbound can be played in a number of different ways: via couch co-op, with AI teammates, with other players online, or any combination of the above. The world is covered in blight and littered with mutated villains, monsters, and other abominations. You play as the heroes of the Refuge, a mountaintop sanctuary untouched by the Blight. Choose one of 3 classes to play: a tank warrior, a deadly assassin or a wise mage. Venture into the corruption with your group of 3 heroes, where you will have to merge and combine your skills and abilities with your teammates to defeat terrible boss monsters, especially on higher levels of difficulty. During your adventures, keep an eye out for Refuge survivors and recruit other heroes lost in the Blight. Collect sweet, sweet loot by completing dungeons so you can polish up your heroes and customize them to suit your unique play style.
Unlock and choose a list of 20 heroes at launch, each with their own combination of passives, skills and ultimate abilities. As a warrior, attract the aggression of enemies and reduce the pressure on your teammates while still being deadly against enemies who make the mistake of getting close. As an assassin, flank the enemies and unleash your deadly arsenal of weapons and skills to wreak havoc. As a magician, use your tools to heal your teammates, dictate enemy movements and fend off enemies from a distance.
However, how you want to play Blightbound is entirely up to you. Each hero has weapon and item slots and you decide how you want to build your heroes. If you want to be a mage up close and personal, you can equip the death bite stick, which turns every third attack into a close range ground blow, throwing up the manaburst brooch, which creates an explosion around you every time you pick up a mana ball . and the mechanical wheel, which gives you an additional fee and additional cooldown reduction for your evasion skill. Why not toss the healing vial too, which grants you extra health and life so your now beefy badass mage can stand up to a brawl at close range? (Just remember to heal your teammates too!)
We made some really crazy builds during our internal play testing. One of the highlights is a glass cannon warrior who can shoot down elite enemies almost with one shot, but falls over in a strong breeze.
After completing the levels, you will be rewarded with items. There are more than 200 unique items in Blightbound which allow you to adapt each role to your individual play style. Equip the weapons and objects of your choice, include your favorite heroes and conquer increasingly difficult dungeons with your friends, with other players or with the AI!
