In the latest development diary shared by Relic, the Canadian authors confirmed the adoption of a dynamic system for the story progression of the main campaign of Company of Heroes 3, the colossal and strategic game. takes place in Italy during World War II.
The Relic team explains that they’ve focused on developing a main campaign that, while having a historically authentic intro and ending, will feature missions whose storyline it will be influenced by the actions that the players take.
Company of Heroes 3 will have a dynamic story
According to the developers of Relic, Company of Heroes 3’s single-player campaign will reflect the dynamic nature of the game, with events varying based on decisions made by users. Decisions taken in certain missions, for example, they will vary the balance of power between the opposing factions
This approach, of course, seems to refer to the role-playing experience, and aware of the doubts that the adoption of such a system raises in a campaign that aims to faithfully re-enact the battles of WWII, the Relic team clarified this:
“This system will not be a gigantic branch of history, like BioWare. We just want to reflect what’s happening on the map in a more modest way, allowing players to immerse themselves in a more engaging story. “
As Relic revealed with the announcement video of Company of Heroes 3, and should be started in the second half of 2022 exclusively for PC.
