The acquisition of Activision Blizzard may not be completed until August.
Observers of the Activision Blizzard takeover by Microsoft are currently puzzling when the deal will finally be completed. There are two scenarios here. Without the UK and an agreement with the CMA, Microsoft could complete the takeover on Monday and then negotiate everything else.
Or else, Microsoft will only come to an agreement with the CMA by August in order to allay the authority’s concerns and then close the deal in about six weeks.
