The first details of the alleged Crash Bandicoot brawler Crash Wumpa League have surfaced.
Game developer Toys For Bob is reportedly working on a brawler set in the Crash Bandicoot universe. We first reported it in June, but there were no further details on the rumor at the time.
That’s all changing now, however, with the multiplayer game being dubbed Crash Wumpa League, according to YouTuber Liam Robertson. It is a 4v4 competitive multiplayer game powered by the Crash Bandicoot 4 engine.
Not only well-known characters from Crash Bandicoot will compete against each other in the brawler, but also new original characters.
The characters are all equipped with a glider, but otherwise each have their own unique moves, as revealed in early gameplay footage. There are also cosmetics, for example for the gliders. They can even be upgraded.
The game environments are described as large and open. Own special features included. This is how a level with toxic waste is described, where players have to climb higher and higher levels during the fight to get to safety.
As heard in Robertson’s video, the release was planned to be within 12 months of Crash Bandicoot 4. However, unspecified problems forced the developer to make a change. In addition, work on the game was paused when they helped develop Call of Duty.
