Current patch notes, these issues are being worked on

Infinity Ward released a first update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II over the weekend. This fixes crashes, framerate drops, issues with unlocking camouflage, and more.

The patch notes can be found at the end of the message.

There will be another update for the launch of Season 1, which starts on November 16th with Warzone 2.0 and the new DMZ game mode.

Until then, the developer is letting players know they’re collecting data on weapon usage and performance. With Season 1, the first balancing of the weapons should be in the house. Details are yet to be provided.

The ping system will also be made available again at the start of the season. It had to be disabled due to bugs.

And solutions are also in the works for these three problems:

  • Riot Shield provides invincibility against Heli Gunners and VTOL
  • DDOS field upgrade availability error
  • A bug affecting the altitude of helicopters, which in some cases can cause them to leave the map.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II patch notes

General updates

  • We fixed a number of crashes affecting players on all platforms, including the bug that caused certain players who participated in the game to crash during matchmaking. Last night’s update should provide additional stability in terms of crashes. We will continue to monitor live problem reports and provide resolutions as soon as we are able.
  • We’ve made general game improvements, including:
    • Fix for various camouflages not unlocking during progression.
    • Fixed framerate drop issues.
    • Known freezing issues have been fixed.
    • General performance improvements.
    • Added fixes for stuttering and lag issues.

personal computer

  • A recent NVIDIA hotfix fixed some critical issues. Please make sure you are running the game with the 526.61 drivers.
  • The PC benchmark map has been updated with a more accurate display of the FPS meter.
  • Follow our friends below beenox for additional updates for MW2 on PC.

weapons

  • We are actively collecting weapon performance/usage data and will provide detailed weapon balancing updates with the launch of Season 01.
  • Last week we disabled the attachment customization feature due to an issue affecting players with 4 or more tuned attachments at a time. We re-enabled attachment customization in last night’s update so players shouldn’t have further issues equipping attachments on a weapon.

multiplayer

  • Enemy or live ping will remain disabled in multiplayer until a fix is implemented with the launch of Season 01. This is due to a bug where ping remained with some players after death. KBM players can still use hazard pings at this time.
  • The player icon on the minimap no longer disappears after reviving a player in certain modes.

Maps/Playlists

  • We have added the Breenbergh Hotel to the third person mosh pit
  • There are no major map changes, but we’ve patched various exploits and geometry bugs over the days since launch. We will continue to address small fixes through daily updates.

UI/UX

  • We’re continuing to refine our UI and will be posting more details in the Season 01 launch notes.

In addition to changes we’ve already made, we’re also actively tracking live issues. Currently known issues include:

  • We are aware of the following issues and are working on fixes
    • Riot Shield provides invincibility against Chopper Gunners and VTOL
    • DDOS Field upgrade availability error
    • A bug that affects helicopter altitude, which can cause them to go off the map in some cases
