Microsoft President Brad Smith continues to think the deal to acquire Activision Blizzard will close next year.
Microsoft President Brad Smith spoke to Bloomberg about recent events regarding the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Smith again said there were very few Xbox exclusive games compared to Sony. To become a stronger competitor, you need more first-party games.
The president of the Windows group also addressed concerns about the possible exclusivity of a single title that has been the talk of the town for weeks: Call of Duty. He again pointed out that they were ready to make a commitment to bring the shooter series to the PlayStation or Nintendo platform for up to ten years.
However, Smith is disappointed that the deal was blocked by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). He considered the way the FTC had acted inappropriate. Especially about the fact that there was no meeting where you could have sat down to talk about a solution.
The matter will now continue in Washington. Just like in other countries where a decision has not yet been made.
However, Smith still thinks the deal can be completed in 2023. Just as it was predicted at the beginning of January when the takeover was announced.
