Bungie makes a strong statement against harassment, abuse and inequality following litigation with Activision Blizzard.
Following the latest allegations and the lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, Bungie has now spoken out. The company issued the following statement:
“Bungie is built on empowering our employees, no matter who they are, where they come from, or how they identify. We have a responsibility to recognize, reflect and do what we can to address the persistent culture of harassment, abuse and inequality in our industry. It is our responsibility to ensure that this type of behavior is not tolerated at any level at Bungie, and that we never apologize or sweep it under the rug. While the reports on this week’s news are difficult to read, we hope they will lead to justice, awareness and accountability. “
“We have a zero tolerance policy at Bungie for environments that support this toxic culture, and we have an obligation to uproot them in order to defend those who are at risk. Women, POC and underrepresented communities have nothing to gain from reliving their trauma. We believe them when they come forward with reports of abuse or harassment. We’re not pretending that Bungie is perfect and that no one has experienced harassment while he or she works here, but we will not tolerate it and will address it directly. And we will continue to work every day to get better. “
“Our goal is to keep improving the experience for everyone who works at Bungie and to do our part to make the gaming industry as a whole more welcoming and inclusive.”
