We’re excited to unveil it Deliver us Mars, a new game for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, developed by our friends at KeokeN Interactive. This thrilling, narrative adventure is the ambitious sequel to 2019 Deliver us the moon, and it takes place 10 years after the events of the Fortuna mission in that game. Our first trailer shows our new protagonist preparing to explore the surface of Mars after a crash landing – reactivating a drone that will be familiar to anyone who played the original.
Taking a giant leap forward in gameplay variety and storytelling, Deliver us Mars takes players on a perilous mission to the Red Planet to help secure the future of humanity. In the world of our game, the earth’s resources are depleted, which necessitates further ventures into space in search of new forms of energy. Environmental issues are very important to the developers, which is why KeokeN’s games take a solid approach to sci-fi storytelling. That means there is one much more of this story will be revealed in the coming months.
For fun players Deliver us the moon, you’ll get a kick out of how the story picks up threads and characters from the original game (we welcome any fan theories until we can say more…). However, brand new players can enjoy this s tory as a completely standalone experience. Motion capture cutscenes from an amazing cast bring this story to life in spectacular fashion.
So why is Deliver us Mars so ambitious? Well, in addition to improving the narrative presentation, it offers numerous game mechanics that are entirely new to the series – players can expect the puzzle-adventure core of the original to return, but beyond that offering a much wider range of gameplay options. A new climbing system will allow our mysterious protagonist to traverse the landscape of Mars, for example, with additional gameplay elements to be revealed later.
Brothers Paul and Koen Deetman, co-founders of KeokeN Interactive, have always had an eye on the stars – their grandfather designed telescopes and shaped so many of their sensibilities as storytellers and game designers. Deliver us Mars is all about presenting players with a handcrafted and emotional narrative, and the entire game is geared toward that goal. At Frontier Foundry, we’re excited to help the studio make this happen.
Xbox Series X|S players can look forward to the game getting the most out of their consoles too. We’ll have more to share on this side of things, as well as many more gameplay and story details, in the coming months. Stay tuned!
