The developer is already making adjustments to the balance of the game classes in Diablo IV in Early Access.
Since the Early Access launch on Friday, Blizzard has been keeping an eye on Diablo IV’s feedback and looking at stats.
Despite being very happy with the performance of the classes, they are making some adjustments as, among other things, “some class builds and synergies are outside the bounds of what is reasonable for the health of the game,” as the developer wrote in the patch Notes for update 1.0.2d writes.
There are therefore adjustments for all classes. You can read which skills are affected by the latest update in the patch notes.
barbarian
Ability Changes
Challenging reputation
- Damage reduction provided by skill ranks has been reduced from 4% to 2%.
Legendary aspect changes
Aspect of the Bold Chief
- Cooldown reduction per nearby enemy reduced to 1.0-1.9 seconds from 2.7-5.4 seconds.
Maximum Cooldown reduction from 12 to 6 seconds.
Aspect of the Terrible Whirlwind
- Increased Critical Strike Chance per second reduced from 5-10% to 3-8%
Maximum Critical Strike Chance bonus reduced from 20-40% to 9-24%.
Druid
Ability Changes
Pulverize
- Lucky hit chance reduced from 33% to 25%.
Thunderstorm
- Damage increased from 32% to 40%.
Grizzly Rage
- Damage bonus increased from 5/10/15% to 6/12/18%
class specialization
Obsidian Slam
- Increased kills required for bonus from 10 to 20.
The calm before the storm
- Lucky hit chance reduced from 15% to 10%.
Passive Changes

Grim Harvest
- Essence gained reduced from 3/6/9 to 2/4/6.
gearing
- Critical hit chance reduced from 0.5/1/1.5% to 0.3/0.6/0.9%.

- A minion’s maximum damage loss in a single damage instance has been reduced from 75/60/45% to 60/45/30%.

- Skeleton Warrior attack damage increased by 10%.
golem
- Golem attack damage increased by 10%.
blood golem
- Blood Golem drain life damage increased from 40% to 90%.
- Blood Golem’s lifesteal heal from enemies hit has been increased from 4% to 5%.
iron golem
- Iron Golem Strike damage increased from 25% to 175%.
- Iron Golem shockwave damage increased from 30% to 40%.
Changes to the Necromancer Paragon Board
Huge monstrosity
- Golem health and damage bonus increased from 30% to 40% health.
cult leader
- Damage bonus increased from 10% to 15%.
villain
Ability Changes
Twisted Blades
- Cooldown reduction per enemy hit reduced from 0.25 seconds to 0.1 seconds.
- Advanced Twisting Blades maximum cooldown reduction reduced from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.
rapid fire
- Damage increased from 24% to 30%.
Dark Shroud
- Damage reduction per shadow gained through skill ranks has been reduced from 0.8% to 0.4%.
hyphen
- Increased sprint critical hit damage bonus from 20% to 15%.
crow’s feet
- Damage increased from 30% to 40%.

- The player’s attack speed nodes have been reduced by 50%.

- The scaling of all glyph bonuses has been reduced by approximately 34%, with the exception of the following:
- Glyphs critical hit damage bonus reduced by ~66%.
- Vulnerable glyph bonus reduced by ~66%.
- Glyph bonus on rare nodes reduced by ~50%.
- Glyph bonus on Magic Nodes reduced by ~40%.
- Glyph bonus on Cold/Fire/Lightning/Non-Physical/Physical nodes reduced by ~62.5%.
monster changes
- Treasure Goblin spawn rate in PvP zones has been significantly reduced.
Troubleshooting
- Corrected the name for the Lightbearer mount.
- The Go to Shop button in the Wardrobe now properly opens the shop.
- Fixed an issue where a caster would be permanently stunned when using Deep Freeze while being affected by another effect that would freeze them.
- Various stability and crash fixes.
