Microsoft is planning to release a digital Xbox Series X, which could come out as early as summer.
According to the latest rumors, Microsoft is planning to release a new Xbox Series X console, which will be released as a “digital” version at a competitive price. The recommended retail price (RRP) should be around EUR 100 below the current Xbox Series X and will be released in June or July.
There were previously rumors that an external drive would also be available for purchase separately for the “Digital Xbox Series X” console. A price has not yet been determined here either.
The Digital Series X is to be released in the color “White”.
Exputer reports: “Aside from the color change and the lack of an optical drive (ODD), the other changes to the white Xbox Series X. Due to the confidential nature of the matter, we are unable to release images of the new console at this time.”
Whether these rumors are confirmed remains to be seen and so, as always, all information should be treated with caution and a healthy dose of skepticism.
Microsoft has officially announced that it will “introduce new hardware towards the end of the year” and is planning the biggest technological leap yet with the next generation (estimated in 2026).
