This year we will have an earthquake in the genre of driving, at least in the specialized section of rally fans, because Nacon Gaming and KT Racing will lose the official WRC license, WRC Generations being the last and notable title they will launch. The heir to the brand will be Codemasters, who have finally obtained, under the EA seal, a license that will take what would be Dirt Rally 3 to a new dimension.
However, we knew the title’s new name wouldn’t be Dirt Rally 3, because not using the WRC branding would be nonsense. Well, before its official revelation, we have a hot leak from the one who becomes a regular and who never fails: Bill-Bil Kun, who with a tweet reaffirms his own information from March, where he even dared to share the images exploits of what we now know as WRC 23.

🚨UPCOMING RELEASE🚨Do you remember this tweet?
I know, many of you were waiting to hear from meThe next WRC game will indeed be called (as first revealed by @_Tom_Henderson_ )
🏎️ WRC 23 🏎️

WRC 23 release date will be end of July
It’s unclear when Electronic Arts or Codemasters will make the official announcement, but Bill-Bil Kun assures that the title will arrive on July 28
We can only hope that’s true, though we’re surprised Electronic Arts doesn’t release something beforehand like a beta or multiplayer demo that tests title stability, server connection, etc… being given its later prominence at the competitive level. Of course, the idea that the successor to our beloved Dirt Rally 2 is so close is surely a surprise driving enthusiasts weren’t expecting. Forza Motorsport will have a good co-driver to take care of the rallies.
