Are you interested in racing games with a combat twist? Are you a Disney and Pixar fan? If yes, then Disney Speed Storm will be your thing! It’s an exciting arcade racing experience set on high-speed tracks inspired by Disney and Pixar worlds, where you can race alone or compete with other players online and locally. Being able to play with others from all over the world is amazing, but being able to play with your friends and loved ones right by your side is something special.
The ability to race locally was a key feature we needed to implement Disney Speed Storm and the team has been working tirelessly to bring this feature, which we call Local Freeplay, to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC on the first day of early access starting April 18th.
Local Freeplay is available for up to 4 players on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, and up to 2 players on Xbox One, so you can start planning your game nights right away. You can also play alone against AI racers to improve your skills!
As soon as you load the game for the first time, you’ll have access to an amazing collection of racers and tracks in local freeplay. A total of 18 racers are available immediately including Mickey Mouse, Mulan, Sulley and more!
There will also be a total of 9 racetracks each with at least 4 track variants available in local freeplay on day one including Toon Village, The Silver Screen, The Castle and others.
Being able to play in your preferred way was also an important aspect for the team. Local Freeplay players not only have access to the above racer list, but also to all of their unlocked customization items. This includes racing suits, kart liveries, wheels and fenders.
But that’s not all! You can also customize the racing experience the way you want. When Early Access launches on April 18th, you’ll be able to choose which circuit and circuit you want to race on, the number of laps (up to 8), the number of AI opponents and their difficulty, and the upgrade level of all players.
