In 2021, Double Fine Productions gave us what could very well be the best game in the studio’s history. The fantastic Psychonauts 2. It’s been a while since that last developer release. But it seems like he’s starting to drop hints about what’s going to happen in the future.
On Twitter, Double Fine recently teased “cool stuff in store” that he says he will “share when we are ready.” In addition to these so-called “interesting things”, the studio is also preparing its 25th anniversary. This one will take place next July, which means that, in Double Fine’s words, there’s “tons of fun on the way.” The official Xbox account responded to the studio’s tweet with the famous bug-eyed emoji. What can we expect?
What the developer has been planning since the launch of Psychonauts 2 is a total unknown. Although the manager of Double Fine, Tim Schafer previously confirmed that the studio was not working on another Psychonauts sequel. Instead, they focused their attention on smaller projects and remember that Psychonauts 2 can well be considered a double A.
