The next opus by Dragon time seems to be the new Arlesian of video games. Developed by BioWare since 2015, the game wasn’t made official until December 2018 at the Game Awards. And while several departures have disrupted the smooth running of the studio, Matt Goldman’s is being formalized today.

After a long silence, EA’s studio was over. reported Dragon Age 4 through a cinematic trailer revealed during the Game Awards 2020. This trailer, narrated by Varric Tethra in voice-over, reveals the concept of the game and a new hero who is not linked to either magic or prophecy. Creative Director Dragon time Matt Goldman has been leaving BioWare since 2017. The departure was formalized by Studio General Manager Gary McKay in an internal email to his staff:

Hello everyone, I hope you are fine. I am writing to inform you that Matt Goldman is leaving BioWare. We have mutually agreed to go our separate ways and his last day is today.

We understand that Matt’s departure has an impact on you and the development of the game. Please rest assured that our commitment to providing a high quality Dragon Age game has not waned and we will not deliver a game that does not meet BioWare standards.

We, including the management team at EA, have absolute confidence in the direction of the studio and the people who are working on this game to advance our vision.

Matt Goldman isn’t the first BioWare veteran to leave the studio. He had died a year earlier to Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah. This wave of exit is also the result of the problems reported within BioWare. We are particularly thinking of the complicated development of Mass Effect Andromeda or from anthem whose restart never saw the light of day.

Parallel to Dragon time, BioWare is also developing a new one Mass effect. Still with no preliminary release date, it is certain that these two games will be released on PC and next generation consoles.
