This Wednesday, we at Zen Studios are very excited to present you one of the most unique RPGs out there. Let's learn Nautical A little bit of survival … a little survival game … a little Lovecraftian horror … and, well, many other great things. I thought it would be fun to take down the trailer of the game for a moment, to give you a better idea of all the "little things" that are happening – as well as just some entertaining comments in the background.
That's our launch trailer. I'm sure it's amazing, but I also have to admit – I wrote this before it was done, and I've never seen it. So let's take a step back to March, when we announce that the game will be coming to the Xbox One on April 29th…
Timestamp 0:03: From the beginning and throughout the trailer, you will hear the song “You're not ready” with excellent talent This is Dagadu. He also introduces the character Miraje, who will see her singing on…
0:08: One of the four main characters you will choose to play with when you start the game, sailing artist Miraje takes the stage in front of the other characters of the game. Three others to choose from at the beginning include independent investigator Fargo Drexler, Yakuza member Hatano Kenichi, and a teenage girl named Vivian Nussbaum. Each has their own unique skills and personality. (I'm a Miraje fan, myself – by Sena's brain only.)
0:10: Hey! What was that? The characters didn't look human in the moment…
0:15: You can see six characters of the game in this shot, including the recently identified Vivian (in heads) and a guy named Jed (red hat) who behaves with your mysterious advice through the game. Four to the left are all the surviving characters you can find to fight alongside your main character of your choice.
Fun fact for Witcher fans! The bartender is presented by Roderick Hill, Jennefer's dad from the Netflix show (and Jonsoska in our play) Operencia: Stolen Sun). And Captain Scrumm all the way back in the background features burning talent Scott Alexander Young, who also contributed to the show (and it was Sebastian on it Operencia).
0:23: You've seen a couple above those weird glitches by this point – now you can see Hope! This is where all this happens. And it's about…
0:25: … It disappears in another dimension.
0:28: As Sena's singing warms so does the game's action.
0:29: Hatano leads the other three survivors to safety – that max can come out of the protected room at the same time. Poor Gordon near the top bravely defends the enemy.
0:31: Fargo blasts a critical hit with a shotgun – one of the more than 150 weapons in the game.
0:32: Lots of rooms! They are all made in a process, so they are always different when you visit.
0:33: Ammo management / use key for survival. And the game will kick your butt if you don't change those tactical brain muscles.
0:36: Going by yourself – as if Miranda is here – is not always a brilliant tactic…
0:37: You found a weird Pirate Cutlass, but you don't have the space to put it. You have to lose or lose something. More decisions like this are awaiting…
0:40: Conversation trees are a big part of the game. But be careful what you say – how the other survivor will affect how willing they are to join your efforts.
0:42: Vivian takes a few minutes to relax in a secluded room, where she can meet the survivors, and prepare and renew her weapons.
0:44: I tell you what's going on here, but… spoilers.
0:53: This moment is the best nail of the game: A sense of despair in the midst of darkness and rain – all while still being animated.
0:56: And now we see Miraje finish her / Sena's song, where…
1:01: You replace the microphone with a knife. A really fun selection of art by our trailer designer, David Szucs. Those Thrackers and Spawners and Grabbers aren't the chance…
(Actually, they did. Did I mention that this game is going to kick us?))

Sailing your boat was very relaxing until the monsters from the other end showed up to kill everyone.
A cleverly based RPG used for things like roguel, Dread Nautical combines focused gameplay and cartoon tone and yet it's fun. The supernatural powers a powerful cruise liner called Hope with mysterious male monstrosities. Fight them as one of the four unlucky heroes. Manage your scarce resources effectively, and convince the scattered survivors to fight alongside you. You will need any hope of escaping this "holiday" alive.
You cut through all 20 decks to unlock the secrets of Hope. Think of several upcoming steps during each battle, planning for the optimal use of points for each action. Your weapons, bandages, and other items are damaged, and your resources are limited. Make sure your friends are relaxing, or panic can overtake them.
Oh … And he's waiting to die. Very much.
