Electronic Arts has just announced via its official website that are developing three new Star Wars projects in collaboration with Lucasfilm. The studio in charge of carrying out these three projects is the same Respawn Entertainment. Known for games like Titanfall, Apex Legends and the famous and novel Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The person responsible for overseeing these projects will be Vince Zampella, the founder of Respawn.
They announced the three projects in development. Being one of them a new franchise title star wars jedi, possibly the sequel to Jedi Fallen Order: a new strategy and first-person shooter video game.
EA and Lucasfilm raise our hype with these announcements
After the development of New star wars jedi, it is found Stig Asmusen and your team. Peter Hirschman, Respawn Game Director; with another development team, they are currently working on the new FPS from Star Wars Universe. Especially Peter Hirschman previously worked as Vice President of Development at LucasArts, in addition to being former executive producer of the original Star Wars Battlefront games.
And as a surprise to all this announcement, we find a new strategy game. The peculiarity of this development is given by the Respawn collaboration with Bit Reactor, study led by Greg Foerstch, who already has experience with these games. He worked at Firaxis until 2019 developing games like XCOM. In this case, Bit Reactor will develop the title while EA will handle its production and distribution.
From Electronic Arts as from Lucasfilm, shows its enthusiasm to extend its collaboration after this great announcement for Star Wars fans:
“We are excited to continue working with the wonderfully talented developers at Respawn.”
“They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories alongside best-in-class gameplay across multiple genres and we look forward to bringing more incredible experiences to the galaxy far, far away.”
Douglas Reilly, vice president of Lucasfilm Games.
“Building on the previous successes of our relationship with EA, this new collaboration highlights the trust and mutual respect shared between the world-class teams at EA, Respawn and Lucasfilm Games.”
“Fueled by the experience and passion of each team, we will create exciting original games for diverse audiences across the Star Wars galaxy.”
Sean Shoptaw, senior vice president of Walt Disney Games.
“Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS set in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, because it’s a story I’ve always wanted to tell.”
Peter Hirschmann, Respawn Game Director
Note that this year 2022, will be the final year of Star Wars license exclusivity with Electronic Arts. This is due to the franchise’s already announced multiple titles from other developers outside of EA. Besides all this, from Respawn they are looking for new workers eager to join their ranks to promote the development of these newly announced projects. After this announcement, we have no choice but to wait for future news regarding these new projects.
