Lightning Cosplay produces elaborate replica and articulated hand puppet of Kay’s sidekick Nix from Star Wars Outlaws.
Star Wars not only stands for exciting adventures in a galaxy far, far away, but also for extraordinary creatures, aliens and droids. What is brought to life in Star Wars Outlaws using the latest graphics technology requires in reality extensive manual work, know-how and of course technology.
The duo from Lightning Cosplay took up the challenge and, within a tight time frame, created a lifelike replica of Kay Vess’ cute and useful sidekick Nix, which could easily be used in a spontaneous film shoot.
The creation of Lightning Cosplays Nix in the video:
The hand puppet has over 500 hand-painted scales and was made using many different techniques such as 3D printing, molding and casting and electrostatic flocking.
She features movable eyes, eyelids and a movable mouth, all of which can be controlled with one hand. The doll weighs 2.5 kg and measures approximately one meter including the tail, which corresponds to the original scale in the game.
